Chardham Yatra from Haridwar Tour Itinerary

Day 1 :Haridwar to Barkot

  • Begin your religious trip from Haridwar Railway Station where our representative shall be waiting to take you to Barkot via Mussoorie.
  • After arriving at the venue, let yourself into your pre-booked hotel, savour dinner, and rest calmly in preparation for the subsequent day.

Barkot

Barkot is located alongside the Yamuna River. It is a significant gateway town for devotees en route to Gangotri and Yamunotri Dham. On this route, do not forget to take pictures of beautiful Kempty Falls.

Day 2 :Barkot- Yamunotri- Barkot

  • Wake up early and take a drive to Phoolchatti or Jankichatti.
  • From there, start your journey towards Yamunotri – a 6 km trek. You can opt for hiking on foot, on horse, or on Doli. The last two options come with an extra cost.
  • At Yamunotri Ji, start your pilgrimage with a bath in Tapt Kund – a natural Hot Water Spring.
  • Next, pray at the Yamunotri Jee Shrine and start the downhill journey back to Jankichatti.
  • Drive back to Barkot, from where you will be taken to the hotel for a wonderful meal. Finish your journey and enjoy an overnight stay at Barkot.

Day 3 :Barkot- Uttarkashi

  • In the morning, have breakfast and then check out from the hotel.
  • Travel for 5-6 hours to reach Uttarkashi, which is located about a hundred kilometres away from Barkot.
  • Check into your pre-booked hotel there and go sightseeing. Visit the local Uttarkashi Market and the very old Kashi Vishwanath Temple, which is the Lord Shiva Temple.

Day 4 :Uttarkashi- Gangotri- Uttarkashi

  • Proceed to Gangotri. The scenic route passes through Harsil Valley, famous for its serene quality and splendid landscapes.

Day 5 :Uttarkashi- Guptkashi/ Sitapur

  • After breakfast, check out from the hotel and then proceed for the sightseeing trip to Sitapur/Guptkashi, passing through Lambgaon and Moolgarh.
  • Relish the short break at River Mandakini, especially at Tilwara, to appreciate the sight of her mighty flow.
  • Arrive at Guptkashi. Visit the Ardhanarishvara Temple, the religious site located at the altitude of 1,319 meters.
  • Check into your Guptkashi hotel and spend the evening enjoying a delicious dinner. After that, proceed to your lodging for the night.

Guptkashi

Guptkashi holds immense religious significance, offering two renowned temples: The Vishwanath Temple, which is similar to the famous temple in Varanasi, and the Ardhanarishvara temple, which enshrines the feminine and masculine aspects of Parvati and Shiva respectively.

It is considered on par with Varanasi in terms of religious significance, especially because of the connection with the Pandavas of the Mahabharata. The legend has it that Shiva came here with the proposal of marriage to Parvati before their divine marriage at the site of Son Ganga and the River Mandakini at Triyuginarayan village.

Another story narrates that when Aurangzeb destroyed the Kashi Vishwanath Temple and built the Gyanvapi Mosque in 1669, the Shiva Linga was shifted to Guptkashi.

Day 6 :Guptkashi/ Sitapur- Kedarnath

Option 1:

  • Start your day with a morning breakfast and then reach the Helipad of either Sersi or Guptkashi/Phata based on the reporting time given by the Helicopter Company.
  • On arrival, enjoy your helicopter ride to Shri Kedarnath Ji.
  • In about fifteen minutes of smooth flying, you will reach Kedarnath Ji for the Darshan of Kedarnath Temple and performing the Pooja.
  • After this divine journey, you stay at Kedarnath Ji. Alternatively, it is also possible to opt for accommodation in Sitapur if you have some time to spare.

Option 2:

  • Wake up early and have breakfast. Check-out from the Guptkashi hotel and then proceed for the drive to Sonprayag.
  • From Sonprayag, hire a government jeep to Gaurikund.
  • From there, embark on a strenuous journey of 19 km to reach Shri Kedarnath Ji Mandir. When you reach the temple, let your senses be captivated by the spiritual aura of the temple and have a blessed Darshan.
  • After this, continue the night stay at Kedarnath Ji or take shelter at Sitapur, according to your convenience.

Kedarnath

Kedarnath Dham is located near the head of the Mandakini River in the state of Uttarakhand. It is situated amidst the Himalayas at a high altitude of 3,584 metres above sea level. This is a huge religious point of interest that houses the ancient temple of Lord Shiva, settled amidst the panoramic views of the rhododendron forests and snow-capped mountains.

As per the legend, after the Kurukshetra war, Pandavas went to seek the blessing of Lord Shiva in Banaras. However, to find solitude, Lord Shiva decided to reside in the form of buffalo in Guptkashi. One day, Bhima, one of the Pandavas, came across him and attempted to capture him. To avoid this, Lord Shiva took a dive in the ground and disappeared, leaving behind his hump. Pandavas built a shrine here and it is the present-day Kedarnath Temple.

Kedarnath Weather

Kedarnath has a freezing climate throughout the year, even in summer. Located at a high altitude of over 3,500 metres, Kedarnath has temperatures that range below 20 degrees Celsius. During winter, the temperatures drop even further – making it a very cold, freezing season.

Day 7 :Kedarnath- Sitapur/ Guptkashi

Option 1:

  • Wake up early. You will be transferred to the helipad to begin your helicopter trip.
  • Return back to Sitapur/Guptkashi and start a further journey to Pipalkoti/Joshimath/Govindghat.
  • During the journey, enjoy the stopover at Ukimath, which is known as the winter seat of Kedarnath ji.

Option 2:
