Itinerary - Do Dham Yatra by Helicopter (3 days)

Day 1 :Arrival in Dehradun

Dehradun is the perfect starting point to commence your sacred Yatra. When you arrive at the Dehradun airport or railway station, our tour representative will be present to welcome you and assist in your transfer to the hotel. Once check-in is done, one can relax and also get ready for the trip. In the evening there is a briefing session with our representative where general information related to the Yatra is discussed. However, it is recommended to take a night’s accommodation in your Dehradun hotel, though you can also go around the town during the evening.

Day 2 :Kedarnath and Badrinath

Start your day early with a fresh mindset, complete the checkout process, and transfer to Sahastradhara Helipad for your helicopter ride to Guptkashi around 7 am. The duration of the flight takes about 45 minutes.

Kedarnath can be reached from Guptkashi by a government-operated helicopter and the nearest point to Kedarnath is the Kedarnath Helipad which is at a distance of 500 meters only from the temple. On arrival, go for the VIP Darshan at Kedarnath Temple. Afterward, return to the helipad for your next flight to Badrinath around 11.

On reaching Badrinath, you will be checked in to a hotel. Car service can be pre-arranged to pick up directly from your hotel / home to get a V.I.P darshan of Badri Vishal. In the afternoon around 4 pm, you are free to go out and visit other places of interest including the Mana Village, the Bheem Pul, and the Vyas Gufa. Return to your hotel for an overnight stay at Badrinath.

Day 3 :Return to Dehradun

On the last day, you should start with the Maha Abhishek Puja which is performed early in the morning at Badrinath Temple. Engage in the puja ceremony and let yourself lose in spirituality by listening to Vedic recitations and classical music. In the evening after offering blessings and having the Bhog, drive back to your hotel for a grand breakfast. When you are done, proceed to the helipad for your return journey to Sahastradhara. From there you need to proceed back till your home, which signifies the end of your holy tour.

Guidelines

  • Identification Requirements: All Indian nationals required to possess the AADHAR card while for foreign nationals, they need to have their passport.
  • Health Precautions: Due to the elevation of the sites in Dham district, it is advisable that passengers make provision of a medical and first aid kit to avoid diseases related to high altitude or any other sickness.
  • Medical Checkup: All passengers are required to go for an overall checkup 2-3 months prior to the Yatra thus ensuring that clients were fit to travel.
  • Oxygen Supply: It is advised that a small bottle of oxygen should also be carried for any mishap that may occur and these are available at medical stores
  • Clothing: However, while the temperatures are optimum during the daytime, Badrinath Dham can be quite chilly at night. Passengers should pack heavy woolen clothes consisting of down jackets, sweaters, shawls, woolen gloves, socks, mufflers among others.
  • Fitness Requirements: Everyone who is to participate in the Yatra should be physically and medically fit to do so.
  • Overweight Charges: Additional charges may be levied on passengers who weigh more than 75 kg because this aircraft has a carrying capacity of 420 kg. Extra charge fees are 1500 INR per kg and will be charged the day before the trip. Thus, based on the above weight distribution, no additional charges will be required if the total weight of six passengers does not exceed 420 kg.
  • Passenger Limit: Ideally each helicopter can transport between 5 to 6 people at any one time.
  • Timings and Delays: The aforementioned timings remain approximate and could be altered by operational, weather, or other contingencies like Air Force clearance, VVIP movements, technical snag in the helicopter, health condition of the crew, or passengers delay at helipads.

Terms and Conditions

  • Concession Policy: There are no special rates for families with children or persons over sixty years of age.
  • Flight Timing Adjustments: We retain the right to cancel, delay or postpone our flights in circumstances such as but not limited to; adverse weather conditions, operational or technical difficulties.
  • Mandatory Weigh-In: Without any doubt all passengers must step on some sort of weighing scale before they board the bus. If the boarder’s capacity plus total weight of the total items added surpasses the capacity of the helicopter, permission to board will not be granted. We may also switch people between the two groups especially when providing for safe weight flying in hilly areas.
  • Waiting Times for Helicopter Transfers: Whenever fleeting is made at Kedarnath or at Guptkashi/Phata/Sitapur, the waiting time may range from 10 minutes to 3 hours depending on the shuttle timings, weather factors, technical stop or ground conditions.
  • Rescheduling Policy: They can be changed to another date at an additional cost of 10% for 7 days before the journey if the new date is available for the journey. Any request to change the booked reservations made a week before the journey will be considered a cancellation, so the new booking will have to be made based on the availability.
  • Force Majeure Adjustments: Any alteration on the itinerary such as changing a particular trip or extending the trip due to factors beyond human control such as weather condition, floods, COVID-19, riots, political unrest, or any other disruptive incidences that will lead to extra expenses will be charged to the passengers.
  • Charter Cancellations: For instance, if a charter aircraft booking is carried out for a certain date, circumstances such as cancellation of the flight due to storm or any other reason, will not have the booking revalidated for the next day. If the client turns down the completed service, refunds will be done according to the cancellation policy while no other responsibilities will be on the company. Any inconvenience occasioned by the cancellation of flights cannot in any way be imputed to the operator. There will be no pay, reimbursement or any sort of replacement on regular intervals of time.
  • Medical Liability: The company doesn’t bear the liability for any eventualities including medical emergencies during the Yatra. It is recommended that passengers should always consult their doctor for a checkup before the journey if there is a previous health complication.
  • Incomplete Journeys: If the journey fails to complete the work because of some problems like weather conditions or some technical problems, they will try to complete the sites within the expected time. If this is not possible, credits/touch-points for the unutilized sectors shall be refunded.
  • Full Tour Cancellation Refunds: If the whole tour is canceled due to force majeure then a complete refund can be provided but with deductions of INR 2,500 per person per sector and any other additional services which are to be provided.

1. What legal papers are needed for the Do Dham Yatra?

Answer :Every Indian must possess an AADHAR card and one must have it with him or her at all times. Foreign nationals must possess their passport.

2. Is there any prior advice from Doctors before going for the Yatra?

Answer : Yes, it is recommended to travel with a medical and first aid kit, get yourself examined fully one and half to three months before the trip, and take a small oxygen bottle for any emergency.

3. What sort of clothes should I take with me for the trip?

Answer :You are advised to carry warm woolen clothing including down jackets, woolen sweaters, shawls, woolen gloves, socks and muffler for the evenings and nights in Badrinath which are quite chilling.

4. Are there any limitations to the weight of passengers that can be carried by the aircraft?

Answer : Yes, the additional fee applies because of the helicopter weight restrictions for passengers with over 75 kilograms. The rate is at INR 1,500 per kg, based on the weight that is charged the day prior to the travel. In case the total weight of six passengers does not exceed 420 kg, no extra charges would apply.

5. How many people can one helicopter transport?

Answer : It can conveniently ferry up to 5-6 passengers at a go for each helicopter.

6. What if the flight is delayed or even canceled due to some reasons such as poor weather conditions?

Answer :No refund will be claimed for cancellation or postponement of the activity due to acts of God, mechanical breakdown, unhealthy climate or any other condition beyond the power of the company to control. When a client cancels his/her order, the money will be refunded in accordance with the refunding policy and over expenses will not be reimbursed.

7. Is it possible to change the date I have booked by any chance?

Answer : Yes, booking can be changed depending on the availability of the vehicle and for an extra 10% if the clients give at least 7 days to the date of the journey. Any request made within 7 days to the journey date will be considered as cancellation and the user will have to book again.

8. What is the general procedure if the Yatra cannot cover some route because of the harsh weather or mechanical breakdown?

Answer : In the following strategy the company will try its best to cover all the sites in the given time period. If this is not possible, refunds for the unutilized sectors shall be made to the person or his/her representative. If the whole tour is not possible due to force majeure, the client will be fully refunded excluding any pre-arranged flights and other extras.
