- Flexible Flying Time: The Helicopter’s flying time is subject to weather forecast and flying permissions and in case of any technical issues or if the weather is not suitable for flying it may be changed.
- Body Weight Limitation: Up to six passengers can be accommodated by each helicopter with up to 445 kg body weight. Passengers can be de-boarded if the given body weight is not as per the actual body weight that has been provided at the booking time. In such situations, de-boarded passengers may not get any refund amount. Passengers need to share the exact body weight that the electronic measuring scale is showing. Passengers with above 75 Kg body weight will have to pay INR 2,000 / - Per Kg.
- Weight Charges: To avoid last-minute hassle you will have to pay this amount in Dehradun. Passengers who have given their wrong body weight will have to pay INR 2500 /- Per Kg only on the pilot’s final call else without any refund they will be de-boarded.
Things to Keep in Mind during Badrinath Trip
- Luggage Weight: You’re only allowed to carry one duffel bag/ small soft bag weighing 2 kgs maximum provided the body weight is the same as mentioned at the time of booking. You’re not allowed to carry other luggage bags or suitcases including hard case bags in the helicopter.
- Infants: Infants who are below 2 years will not have to pay any charge. For the child’s age verification, the birth certificate/ ID proof of the child must be submitted before the arrival date.
- Bad Weather Conditions: Bad weather conditions may have an impact on flying in hills. Force Majeure factors such as Permissions, VVIP movements, delayed Air Traffic Clearances, valley flying by Indian Air Force, late reporting of the passengers at helipads, and illness of flying crew among others will also impact flying. Therefore, you need to be prepared to face any inconvenience and eventuality in case of such scenarios.
- Additional Day: Passengers are advised to keep an additional day at hand, above and over the 1 Day, to avoid any kind of inconveniences in case passengers get stuck due to force majeure scenarios and bad weather.
- Itinerary Changes: Due to bad weather/ backlog or any natural circumstance, amendments can be made to your itinerary. In some circumstances we may have to cancel the trip may be cancelled on the arrival day due to the above conditions. Badrinath Helicopter Yatra Booking Process
- 1. On the Uttarakhand Government Portal, you can register yourself for the Badrinath Yatra, and then the Yatra Registration Number will be provided to you.
- 2. Then for helicopter booking, you’ll have to sign up on the official IRCTC portal – https://heliyatra.irctc.co.in/. After visiting the website you will have to create your account and validate your mobile number via OTP. Your registered mobile number will be your user ID.
- 3. Using these credentials you can log in on the above portal and start your helicopter booking process for Badrinath Yatra.
- 4. With one user ID, a maximum of two tickets can be booked. Each ticket will allow up to six passengers. So a maximum of 12 people can only register for the Yatra from one user ID. You will have to create a new user ID if you require more tickets.
- 5. To check for the availability of dates, you can see the Heliyatra website of IRCTC’s calendar and choose from the dates shown as available.
- 6. Carry the tickets' physical printouts/copies along with the ID proof as submitted at the booking time for all passengers. If you do not comply with this you may not be allowed to fly. Digital copies or screenshots of the ticket won’t be considered valid.
- 7. Before the travel date, you should book your tickets between fifteen to twenty before the travel date for the best rate, after which, based on UCADA’s dynamic pricing policy the prices may increase.
